Taize

Taize Prayer

 

Taize is a style of prayer used by the Taize monastic community in France.  It is an ecumenical community dedicated to contemplation and the reconciliation of Christians of all faiths.  Taize prayer includes Scripture, silence, prayer and chants in a candlelit atmosphere to create an oasis of peace.

Why Taize?  In our busy world, we need more and more to center ourselves on the spiritual rock which is Christ Himself.  The prayer tradition of Taize can help us let go of our preoccupations and become more aware of God’s presence in ourselves and in our Christian communities.

All are welcome to meet in the main hall at 7 PM on the last Tuesday of the month for this hour of prayer for peace in our world, in our families and in our hearts.
